Due to the various times each calendar celebrates a new year, some of these dates may be off by a year or two. Also, it is difficult to find two date calculators that agree. Some sources are hundreds of years different from the dates presented here, e.g., 'Ussher and a group of theologians and scholars in 1630 performed calculations and created a study that reported the creation of Adam on October 23, 4004 BC at 9:00 am . . . .'†, however, the Hebrew calendar, based on the creation of Adam, does not begin until 3761 B.C.E. some 243 years later. 'Tis a conundrum. We here at A Bahá'í Glossary have, to save our sanity, quit trying to make all the math work out right. |
