There are currently over 60 Bahá'í Houses of Worship in some stage of existance. Fourteen are built and open to the public, two are under construction and one has been destroyed. The remaining are planned for construction in the near future. The decisions for which and when others will be built rest with the Universal House of Justice. |
A plan to erect two National Houses of Worship and five Local Houses of Worship were announced in the Riḍván 178 B.E. (A.D. 2012) Message from the Universal house of Justice |
As of 120 B.E. (A.D. 1963) the locality of 51 houses of worship had been determined in a document published by the Hands of the Cause. |
