offensive to gain control of the strategic port of Haifa. Prior to the
30-hour battle the Arab population of Haifa was estimated to be 65,000
compared to 70,000 Palestinian Jews. At the end of the operation the

Rowland Estall, Lloyd Gardner, Doris Richardson, John Robarts, Emeric
