| Ten-year teaching Plan initiated by Shoghi Effendi in 1953 and culminating at Riḍván 1963 with the election of the Universal House of Justice. Shoghi Effendi passed away before the midpoint of the Plan, and the remaining work was supervised and coordinated by the Hands of the Cause. |
| Shoghi Effendi said of the Crusade: 'The avowed, the primary aim of this Spiritual Crusade is none other than the conquest of the citadels of men's hearts. The theatre of its operations is the entire planet. Its duration a whole decade. Its commencement synchronizes with the Centenary of the birth of Bahá'u'lláh's Mission. Its culmination will coincide with the Centenary of the Declaration of that same mission.'13 |
| The four-fold objectives of the Crusade were: the development of the institutions at the World Centre; the consolidation of the communities of the participating national spiritual assemblies; the consolidation of all territories already opened to the Faith; and the opening of the main unopened territories. |
