(née Louisa A. Moore) American Bahá'í to whom ‘Abdu'l-Bahá gave the name Livá (Banner) — Banner of the Cause. Shoghi Effendi designated her as ‘the mother teacher of the West'. Lua Getsinger travelled extensively in order to teach the Bahá'í Faith. In 1898 she was among the first Western pilgrims to visit ‘Abdu'l-Bahá in ‘Akká. She died in Cairo in 1916. |
