| A special event day observed by Bahá'í communities in the United States and elsewhere to call attention to the need for world peace. In 1985 the observance of UN International Day of Peace replaced World Peace Day, which had been observed by Bahá'í communities in the United States since 1959. UN International Day of Peace is observed on the third Tuesday in September. |
