Uttering false charges with malicious intent, in order to damage another person's reputation. Along with backbiting, calumny is specifically prohibited in the Kitab-i-Aqdas. Bahá'u'lláh wrote: ‘Material fire consumeth the body, whereas the fire of the tongue devoureth both heart and soul.
